Minister's message
by Kim
Spring is in the air. So is snow.
Normally when I write this column, there is usually an idea foremost in my mind.
I suspect my jumble of thoughts has a lot to do with the upcoming election. By
the time you read this, there will be a new council.
I have been blessed to serve with such a
wonderful council. They have provided me great support, lots of ideas and
wonderful feedback. No one can be a minister without this support. There was
great support from the fraternity as well. I hope that the new council will
experience the same support.
I look forward to working on the Fall
Gathering and being more involved in ongoing formation. The Browns Valley group
having their first profession is great on so many fronts. I remember how
concerned we were to be so remote from the forming group. Were still remote
physically, but not spiritually. I believe they will be a great addition to the
region.
It is exciting to experience the joy
that St. Francis felt whenever others chose to follow his radical way of gospel
living. The one joy St. Francis never experienced: welcoming his replacement
while still living.
On a sadder note, we mourn the passing
of Lorraine Gunderson. I remember her humor, the kind of humor that comes with
approaching life as a challenge. Shes exploring heaven with Peg Arf now. |
