Browns Valley moves toward emerging status and selects an apostolate

St. Anthony of Padua in Browns Valley has taken another step toward Emerging Fraternity status with a Fraternal Visitation by Jim Hein, SFO, Regional Minister. He gave very complimentary remarks to the members and Fr. Joe Vanderberg, Pastor of St. Anthony's and Ave Maria's Churches. We are all very thankful for his considerations and his comments.

The Fraternity has decided on a common Apostolate. Edith along with others, are busy making Prayer Shawls. We have passed the completed Shawls to three of our own members and also people in Browns Valley. It is a moving experience to place the shawl around the shoulders of someone who is struggling with illness, or other problems, while praying. All of our members are supportive of it and those who don't crochet or knit, help with buying yarn and praying.

The Profession date for Kathy and Anita has been set for October 4th, 2008. They are very excited and are beginning to think about "their day".

We are beginning another Orientation class. So far, only one person has requested formation for it, but it's possible a couple of others might be interested. More about this later, as it happens.

May God Grant all of us a very Blessed Lent.
