The power of prayer On Tuesday, Maria requested prayers for her son, Adam. On Monday, Adam had been to the dentist and a spot was found on his cheek which was likely a melanoma. On Friday, Adam went for a biopsy. The biopsy came back negative; there is no cancer. What is the problem is not yet known. The prayer request went out by email. It was widely distributed this way. However, I don’t think our calling committee ever called; at least I never received a call. Did you? Did you know about this prayer request? It is not too late for you to join in now. Say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for the results and for Adam’s good health. Who knows? It may be the gratitude that you will show today that tipped the balance in this display of God’s mercy. Time is not a restriction for God. We all know that Mary was preserved from all sin from the moment of her conception. This was not because she was not in need of redemption. It was a case when the redemption took place in advance of Christ’s redemptive sacrifice. Be thankful for all God’s gifts. |
