Born September 1912 (I think either the 3rd or 4th) in Shakopee Minnesota. Died January 19 2002 at St. Therese Home in New Hope Minnesota. Buried Dayton Minnesota at the Catholic cemetery there, next to her husband Larry.

Celie had been adopted. Her parents lived in Robbinsdale and eventually moved to north Minneapolis after Cele and Larry married. Both Larry and Cele worked in banking.

They never had any children but, they had numerous friends. The family next door to them, the McGandy's, had three children. Those children, their friends and many neighborhood children were beloved by Larry and Cele.

Bev McGandy wrote a testament for Celie's funeral which told of the premature birth of one of their children, Bev's inability to care for the child or herself, due to infection and postpartum problems. Cele came over and cooked, cleaned, washed clothes, was "Mom" to the whole family during the course of her illness.

Cele gave many example of her devotion to God and to others throughout her life. She made YOU her focus when she was with you. A long life, well lived.
